A simple answer is, I was born in India, and spent 21 yrs absorbing the experiences as a child, teenager, and a young woman. With a family who believed in the active pursuit of academic intellect, I left India to explore the Western world of thinking and living including United States, and Australia.
The next twenty plus years revealed the heart of my free spirit who loves to immerse in mental healing through language, culture, emotions. I believe that children and youth mental health stay strong when their connections with family, community, and culture is harmonious. This systemic thinking and approach have led me to learn neuroscience of trauma, getting trained with Clinical Masters program in Family Therapy, deepen my practice with Dyadic Attachment Psychotherapy training.
My West-East passion is to embed culture and relational recovery into western models of individual treatment for children and families in rural and remote areas around the world…and play a healing part towards restoring identity and dignity with Indigenous, Migrant and Refugee sons, daughters, fathers and mothers.
